Councilperson, District I

RenoRene “Reno” Luna was elected to serve the citizens of District I in May of 2010.

A Del Rio native and life long resident of District I, Luna is passionate about moving Del Rio forward and eager to serve his constituents. 

Luna served in the U.S. Army during the early 1990’s, and returned to Del Rio as soon as he could, making District I his permanent home once again.  Councilman Luna was born and raised in District I and is proud to have the opportunity to represent the district he grew up in and the people he loves.

Luna attended Sul Ross State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994. Upon graduation, he began his career with the San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District, and resumed his educational career, receiving a Masters of Education degree (M.Ed.) in 2005. Councilman Luna is currently the Director of Research, Development and Evaluation for the San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District.   

Councilman Luna is married to Debra Reschman-Luna and is the proud father of his son, Reno Luna.

As Councilman for District I, Luna is focused on improving basic infrastructure, economic development, parity for civil service employees, and quality customer service.

Councilman Luna looks forward to serving not only the people of District I, but the community and welcomes citizens concerns and input to help move Del Rio forward.
