American Airlines is requesting community support and data collection for potential service to Del Rio, Tx (DRT) from Dallas/Ft. Worth, Tx (DFW)
American Airlines is currently considering service to Del Rio, Texas (DRT). By connecting Del Rio to their hub in Dallas/Ft. Worth, American Airlines would be able to take Del Rio travelers to nearly 200 destinations throughout the world with only a single connection. American Airlines believes that there is a chance that they can successfully launch service to DRT by partnering with the City and local businesses and organizations. If American Airlines determines to begin service to DRT, they want their service to be successful in order to serve the area and its residents for many years to come.
Since DRT has not had recent service from a major carrier, American Airlines’ ability to accurately assess the market potential is diminished. Therefore, American Airlines is asking for help from the City and that of its local businesses, residents, and organizations in providing any passenger data such as purpose of travel, time of travel preferred, connections, any insights, and qualitative or quantitative metrics. This data is being collected via surveys, commitment and support letters.
American Airlines’ goal through this process is to determine how the residents and travelers to Del Rio would use their potential service. Though American cannot guarantee it will launch new service to Del Rio, they believe that there is a strong potential. Gathering this data will aid in their decision making.
