The City of Del Rio will receive bids for the City of Del Rio Streets Rehabilitation Project
until 3:00 P.M. on August 3, 2017 at 109 West Broadway, Attention Ms. Alma Levrie, City
Secretary. The envelopes should be clearly marked City of Del Rio Street Project Paving
Plan. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at this time at the City of Del Rio
Council Chambers, 109 W. Broadway Street, Del Rio, Texas. Bids received after the time and
date specified will not be accepted.
Bids are requested for the rehabilitation of 20 existing roads to include milling and overlay,
overlay, reworking base and overlay, seal coating and sanitary sewer replacement. Several
items and quantities of work are as follows:
1. Reworking base material of approximately fifty-nine thousand and seven hundred and
fifty-four (59,754) square yards;
2. Plane of asphaltic concrete pavement of approximately four thousand and two hundred
and forty five (4,245) square yards;
3. Various items of paving followed by a finished layer of asphalt materials of
approximately six thousand and six hundred and thirty-five (6,635) tons;
4. Adjusting manholes, water valves, gas valves of approximately one hundred and five
5. Reflective pavement markings of approximately six hundred and ten (610) linear feet;
6. Replacement of Sanitary sewer lines of approximately one thousand and seven hundred
and seventy-seven (1,777) linear feet;
7. Various other items to complete the project.

A bid bond in the amount of five (5) percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall
be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Del Rio or
negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond.
Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-
Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, contained in the contract documents, must be paid on
this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants
for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age or
The City of Del Rio reserves the right to waive or reject any and all bids, or any and all irregularities
in the said bid, in order to accept the offer considered to be the most advantageous
to the City of Del Rio, and/or to decline all offers. Bids received after the time and date
indicated will not be accepted.
Bids may be held by the City of Del Rio for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the
date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidders’
qualifications prior to the contract award.
