EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER ACTIVATES TO LEVEL 2

Del Rio, Texas – The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has activated to a Level 2

as of March 18, 2020. A level 2 activation means that the EOC has regular briefings,

comprehensive agency coordination, resource and protocol development, partial

staffing during specific hours, limited call center and various other components

activated. At a level 2, all community efforts are processed through the center in

order to ensure all messaging, planning efforts, protocols and response activities are

being conduction in coordination with other involved agencies.

The EOC has activated a Community Hotline for any questions, concerns or

requests. The Hotline is 830-775-2313. Questions may also be submitted via email

at emergency.ops.center@cityofdelrio.com. Currently, the EOC Level 2 Operations

Hours are scheduled from Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with additional hours as needed,

until further notice.

The Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) is committed to updating the local

community with current information as it is received. As of the date and distribution of

this release, the City of Del Rio/Val Verde County has not had any cases of confirmed

COVID-19.

As a reminder, the EOC has 4 activation levels:

LEVEL 4: Lowest level and normal conditions.

LEVEL 3: Increased monitoring and coordination.

LEVEL 2: Comprehensive agency coordination, regular briefings, resource and

protocol development, partial staffing during specific hours, limited call center and

various other components activated (current level).

LEVEL 1: Highest level of activity. All agencies, all components, and up to 24/7-hour

staffing to manage planning, response and recovery efforts.

Additional changes in the level of activation at the City of Del Rio and Val Verde

County EOC will be shared with the public as any changes take place.
