If you fail to make an initial appearance in the time allowed, fail to appear for a court date as scheduled, or fail to meet any other deadline without being granted additional time by the Court beforehand, a warrant of arrest may be issued for you. You may then be arrested by any law enforcement agency at any time. To avoid arrest, you must immediately resolve this matter by contacting the Municipal Court.

If a warrant officer has left a message on your answering machine, with your place of employment, with a friend or relative, or on a hanger on your door, you should contact the Court. These notices indicate that you may have warrant for your arrest.

If you are arrested, you will be held in custody until sufficient bond is posted or you appear in front of the judge. If you have an outstanding arrest warrant, you should call the court and schedule a hearing before the judge as soon as possible. Your warrant will remain in effect until you appear before the judge or post bond.

The Court may issue an arrest warrant when:

  • You fail to appear
  • You fail to comply with an Order of the Court
  • You fail to make scheduled payments
  • You fail to complete the requirements set by the judge and fail to appear to the show cause hearing
  • You fail to comply with the terms of your probation and fail to appear to the hearing
  • You fail to comply with a community service order

Please note that the Municipal Court of Del Rio has a Safe Harbor initiative specific to Class C misdemeanor violations----this means that if a warrant is, or has been, issued in your case, you can appear at the Municipal Court of Del Rio to discuss your case without fear of arrest for any outstanding warrants issued by the Municipal Court of Del Rio related to a Class C misdemeanor violation. Walk-ins are welcome to speak to the Judge Tusedays and Thursdays at 9:00 am.
