The Del Rio Parks and Recreation Department maintains City-owned parks including swimming pools, and athletic fields. The department is also called upon throughout the year by various organizations to help with celebrations and festivals.
The City parks belong to you! Lets take care of them together!
Glass Container Ban
The use of glass containers in City parks is prohibited by ordinance.
Put litter in its place, the trash can. Littering in City parks is prohibited by ordinance. Help us keep our parks beautiful.
Camping is not allowed at other parks except when the park curfew is lifted by the Parks and Recreation Department Superintendent for special events and/or holiday celebrations, as approved through City Ordinance or the City Manager.
The use of alcohol is permitted in City parks with the following exceptions:
- Alcohol is not allowed in or around public pools
- Alcohol is not allowed on the play area or dugout area of any athletic area
- Alcohol is not allowed on any school district property or parking area adjacent to a school district facility
- No glass containers allowed in any park area
Motor Vehicle Traffic
Driving or operating a motor vehicle, recreational or private, on any park area other than a designated street or parking lot is strictly prohibited. This includes walking or jogging trails, sidewalks, sports fields, grass areas, or picnic grounds.
