The City contracts Platform Waste solutions to provide solid waste collection services to its customers through a curbside collection system.

Collection Frequency

Residential garbage is collected once per week. My Collection Day

Placement

Make sure access to carts is not blocked by vehicles, objects, or overhanging tree limbs.

Bagged leaves, grass and plant clippings placed along side your solid waste cart will be collected during your weekly scheduled collection.

Missed Collection

If you forgot to place your solid waste cart at the curb on your regular collection day, please call (830) 774-8504 to schedule a pick-up for an additional fee.

If you placed your solid waste cart at the curb on your regular collection day before 6:00 am and it wasn't serviced, call Utility Billing at (830) 774-8504.

Not Accepted Items

Do not place hot ashes, coals, concrete, rocks, large pieces of metal, tile, dirt, household hazardous waste (e.g., paint, oils, corrosives, batteries) in the garbage cart.

Cart Storage

Store your cart out of the right-of-way on non-service days (i.e., garage or backyard).

Cart Replacement

If your cart is damaged, please call (830) 774-8504. Minor cart damage from normal use will be repaired without cost to the property owner. Any cart with damages as a result of abuse or neglect by the property owner will be replaced at a charge of $65 per cart.

Excess Trash

The 96-gallon cart provided is the equivalent of three regular 32-gallon garbage cans and provides adequate capacity for an average household. If you have excess trash that does not fit in your garbage cart, hold on to it until your next scheduled collection.

Additional Carts

Additional garbage carts are available for a monthly fee of $5.72 (inside city limits) and $6.87 (outside city limits) and can be requested by emailing by calling (830) 774-8504.

Holiday Collection

New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day are observed holidays. When the holiday is observed the solid waste collection dates are pushed ahead by one day during the holiday week.
