Overview:

To better support our community partners and their small businesses, the Economic Development Department at the City of Del Rio has developed the “Del Rio Small Business Webinar Series" to provide resources and guidance for the small businesses within our community. We are asking small businesses to take part as guest panelists in a webinar session, which allows the opportunity to share what makes your business unique, how you manage various obstacles, and what advice you may have for those just beginning their business journey. 

Eligibility and Requirements:

Eligible industries may include, but are not limited to: retail (storefront); food and beverage; personal care (barber shop, nail salons, spas, etc.); health/wellness; and entertainment venues. 

Ineligible businesses include, but are not limited to: national chains (unless locally owned and business owner has less than 6 in region); regional chains with 6 or more locations in Texas; financial institutions; RV parks; apartment complexes; home-based businesses; permanently closed-down businesses; and non-profit organizations. 

Small Businesses that wish to apply must meet the following criteria:

• Physically and publically accessible location within the City of Del Rio city limits (no home-based businesses).
• Business has between 1-50 employees. (Part-time employees are to be counted as .5 the employee count.)
• Must be a City of Del Rio utility customer. 
• Must be in good standing with the City of Del Rio with respect to licensing, permits, utility payments, and property taxes.
• Must be registered with the Texas Comptroller’s Office as a sales tax revenue generating business for the City of Del Rio. 
• Engaged in activities that are legal under City and State law. 
• Must be in business for a minimum of 12 months prior to August of 2020.

Review Process:

Applications will be reviewed by the City of Del Rio Economic Development Department and the Public Relations Department. The deadline to submit this application is Friday, September 25, 2020. Include supporting documentation as needed. Applicants will receive notification of their submission status within 3-5 business days.
