Street & Drainage
The purpose of the Streets and Drainage Department is to maintain the City's thoroughfare infrastructure, to allow safe transport of people, goods and services in the City limits including:
- Maintaining over 218 centerline miles of streets
- 16 signalized intersections
- 4 flashing beacon intersections
- 6 school zone flashing beacons
- Over 30 miles of drainage channel for flood control
- Sweeping City streets

Maintains the pavement markings of all City streets and City parking lots
Residential Traffic Management Program (RTMP)
Introduction
- Purpose: Address traffic concerns in residential areas, ensuring safety and tranquility.
- Adopted: August 2023 (O-2023-072).
RTMP Process
- Response Time: City responds within one business day to complaints.
- Steps: Initial review, data collection, public meeting, develop remedies, implement improvements.
Typical Traffic Concerns
- Speeding vehicles
- High traffic volumes
- Roadway noise
- Reckless driving
- Pedestrian and vehicle conflicts
- Limited visibility
- Parking issues
Traffic Management Measures

Data Collection Criteria
- 85th percentile speeds exceeding the limit by 5 mph
- 20% of daily traffic as "cut through"
- Daily volumes exceeding design by 20%
Emergency Response Routes
- Designated routes to minimize impact on emergency services.
